To all my friends out there selling today, this mindset is the key to success in sales. It may win you more deals. Who knows? There's no guarantee. But I can guarantee you that if you master this thing, you will be miles ahead of the folks who don't or can't or won't.

I'm even willing to bet that it will pay off for you financially in the long run. It's very simple. It's not hard to do at all. It can be done by sellers at any skill level. In fact, it has nothing to do with your skills whatsoever. It has everything to do with your mindset. All it is is this: No matter what you're doing, I need you to remember that at the end of the day, a seller's job is to make their customer’s life better.

That's it. Sales is not a gotcha game. It's not what you see on TV. It's not about getting the most and taking all the pie. It's not a fight. It's your chance every day to make the world a better place. Your mindset with every customer should be: I'm here to make your life better.

This mindset changes everything about the way you run your business. It makes it worth getting out of bed in the morning. It makes it exciting to pick up the phone. So the next sales call you've got, rather than getting nervous or stressed out or ready for a fight—reframe your mind.

Ask yourself, do I believe in what I'm selling? Am I making this person's life better by coming on this call? If the answer is no, then it's time for a change. But if the answer is yes, that's how you succeed in sales. Love your customers, love your job, love yourself.
